Q:  Where are you located?
A:  We are located at 1417 Murfreesboro Road across from the New Orleans Manor restaurant and the airport runway.


Q:  What are your hours of operation?
A:  We are open to the public for auction item inspection and pick-up from:
         Mon. – Thurs. / 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
         Closed all holidays
    
We are open to Metro offices from:
         Mon. – Fri. / 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Q:  When is the next public auction?
A:  All of our public auctions have been discontinued. All surplus items are sold online at ebid.nashville.gov. Items are added weekly and run from five (5) to fourteen (14) days.

Follow these steps to bid on items:

  • Go to http://ebid.nashville.gov on your browser

  • Register as a new bidder

  • View the items we have up for bids

  • Click the item you want to bid on

If you win the bid, you will be notified by e-mail that you are the winning bidder. Online payment options are available on the eBid auction site. Pick-up instructions will be included in the e-mail also.



Q:  I don't have a computer ... How can I bid?
A:  You can bid on our items from any computer with Internet access. If you don't know anyone with Internet access, there are computers at any of the Metro Library branches that offer the use of computers at no charge. We also have two terminals at the Surplus Warehouse for online bidding.



Q:  How do I find out what items are up for auction?

A:  All of our items up for auction are accessible via the Internet 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Items are brought in daily and we will feature a huge variety of Surplus personal property to choose from. Click HERE to see the auction items.



Q:  Can a Metro Nashville / Davidson County employee bid on the online auction items?
A:  Most Metro employees can bid on surplus items. However, Metro employees directly involved with the disposition of surplus property including the employees' supervisors and persons living in either the employees' or supervisors' households shall not bid on any item available for auction on the eBid Nashville site.
Metro employees with personal or first-hand information regarding the condition of any item available for auction on the eBid Nashville site is prohibited from bidding on such items, including persons living in the employee's household. Personal or first-hand information includes knowledge of an items condition.


Q:  When and where do I pay for the items that I bought on your online auction site?
A:  Online payments are accepted---Visa Credit and Check Card/MasterCard Credit and Check Card. Bank drafted Cashier's Checks completed in the exact amount of purchase are also an acceptable form of payment. Government entities may request alternate payment forms by contacting Sandra Harding.


Q:  How long do I have to pay for, and pick up my item/s?
A:  You must pay for and pick up your items/s within 5 (5) working days unless specified otherwise in the Special Instructions located on each items bid page.


Q:  Do I pay Sales Tax on an item I bought online?
A:  No Sales Tax will be collected by us at the time of payment. Sales Tax will be assessed by the issuer of your title for vehicle and some equipment purchases.


Q:  Is “shipping” included or available?
A:  The winning bidder is responsible for picking up the item. Shipping services are not available at this time.


Q:  Can the vehicle that I bought be driven home?
A:  All property is offered for sale "AS-IS, WHERE-IS" with no warranty or guarantee as to its fitness for any use or purpose offered or implied. ALL SALES ARE FINAL.

Every effort will be made to accurately describe the items offered for sale. However, the bidder is cautioned that the items presented are used and may contain defects not immediately detectable. Items are available for public inspection prior to your bidding. Please use your best judgment when bidding.

PLEASE INSPECT THESE VEHICLES CAREFULLY – ALL SALES ARE FINAL – AS IS – NO WARRANTY – NO GUARANTEE – PER OUR TERMS AND CONDITIONS set forth by The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County.


Q:  Do you have a mechanic on duty or someone to load something I bought?
A:  We will be glad to boost a vehicle if needed but we do not have a mechanic on staff. We also will be glad to load an item small enough for our forklift, but do not have the machinery to load vehicles or other large equipment. These rules apply only to items located at the Surplus Warehouse, 1417 Murfreesboro Road. See "Special Instructions" on each items bid page for items not located at Murfreesboro Road site.


Q:  Who would I contact for a replacement title for an item that I purchased?
A:  All vehicles are sold with clear titles. If for some reason you need a replacement title for a vehicle purchased from us …
