A 2.30% convenience fee will be charged for all credit and debit card transactions. The fee is assessed by the electronic processing company, and no part of the fee is retained by the Metropolitan Government of Nashville. There will be no fee for bank drafted Cashier's Check or Postal Money Order payments.

A good and marketable title will be issued to the purchaser. Purchaser will also receive a Bill of Sale and Odometer Statement. The Odometer Statement will reflect exactly what is read from the odometer whether 5 or 6 digits. On the item description, if a vehicle only has 5 digits on the odometer, an asterisk will replace the 1st digit.

All vehicles that are driven out of our facility must have a State issued license plate or temporary tag. If you reside in Davidson County, you may be eligible for a 30 day temporary tag from the County Clerk's Office. If you reside out of the county, you may be eligible for a 30 day temporary tag through your County Clerk's Office if available or the State of Tennessee. If you reside out of state, you can get a 7 day transit tag from the Davidson County Clerk's Office. By bidding on any item(s) you are agreeing to the online auction Terms and Conditions set forth by The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, The bidder is cautioned that the item presented may contain defects not immediately detectable. Items are available for public inspection prior to your bidding. Please use your best judgment when bidding.

You will have five (5) working days from the day of the bid award to pay for and claim your item unless otherwise specified in the special instructions. If you are the purchaser of an auctioned item and someone other than yourself will be picking up the item, you must print, complete, and send a Property Release Form along with a printed copy of your paid receipt with your authorized agent. The Property Release Form is located on the main menu bar on every page.

Proxy bidding is allowing the eBid system to automatically bid on your behalf up to your chosen maximum amount. A proxy bid is your Maximum bid - not your current bid.

When you place a bid, enter the maximum amount you are willing to pay for that item. This proxy bid amount will be private to everyone until the auction ends. Whenever someone else places a bid, our auction software will automatically enter the lowest possible bid for you, up to your maximum bid, until you are the winning bidder.

At the end of an auction, if you are the highest bidder, you are the winner. As the winner of the auction, you only pay the lowest possible winning bid, not necessarily your maximum bid.

When Proxy Bidding is in effect, it can appear as if one bidder has beat another bidder with the same bid amount. This is normal and occurs when a bidder has a proxy bid in effect and a second bidder comes along and makes their bid at the exact same amount the current proxy bid is at. Since the proxy bid was placed earlier, that is the bid that will succeed. For the second bidder to succeed in placing a bid, they must bid higher than the proxy bid that is in effect.

The Bid Extension feature allows bidding to continue in five minute increments past the scheduled closing time on all auction items.

This feature extends the auction closing time on an item to 5 minutes each time a new bid is placed during the last 5 minutes of an auction. This assures that all bidders will have the opportunity to counter any last-second bids on an item. This makes bidding fair for everyone while also receiving the maximum return on taxpayer dollars. Sniping software will not be successful on the eBid site.

The item’s closing time will continue to extend in 5 minute increments as long as there is continued bidding. The item will automatically close when there is a 5 minute extension period with no new bids.
